I’m Juliana.

A little bit about me:

I'm a New York native, a Temple University graduate, a social/digital media professional (formerly Rolling Stone, VICE, The FADER), a crossword puzzle constructor (Black Crossword), and a maker of clay jewelry (Pache Studio).

I love a quirky hobby, an interesting talent, shared humanity, being in awe, and playful uses of language. I'm always striving to learn and do more.

With experience in social media management and strategy, I have a deep understanding of what engages audiences, how to organize and execute a thorough digital rollout, and how to apply learnings to future planning.

I believe in having — as much as possible — something valuable to offer audiences, and giving them the opportunity to connect with that offering.

How can we stand out and engage our audience in a way that feels mutually beneficial? I always ask myself this question while workshopping ideas.

Editorial content packaged for social media

I work closely with editorial and design teams to seamlessly package stories across social platforms.

From news and editorial, to streaming services and consumer products, I have experience crafting copy for a variety of clients.

Client and campaign highlights

  • Netflix's “Con Todo”

    From March 2020 to December 2020, I worked extensively with Netflix’s Latino/a/x-focused vertical, Con Todo, to propose and create social media content promoting the streamer’s shows and movies related to Latin American culture.

  • Nike's “Community Champs”

    In 2021 I worked with See Me Creative as a freelance social copywriter for their partnership with Nike. The “Community Champs” campaign highlighted local leaders and creatives in the New York City area.

  • Russell Athletic

    In 2018, I spearheaded social copy and strategy for Russell Athletic’s partnership with The FADER to promote their Heritage collection. In January 2020, I assisted the brand again, this time as a freelancer with the LEDE company, maintaining their social media for a short period before they filled a full-time position.

  • Spotify

    In 2018 Spotify partnered with The FADER for several “fireside chats” during FADER Fort at SXSW in Austin, Texas. I spearheaded social media copy and promotion, as well as live-posting throughout the chats. Additionally, I hosted one of the two panels with industry professionals.

  • New Balance

    Over the course of several years, New Balance partnered with The FADER for various activations and editorial projects, such as FADER Fort at SXSW, as well as their “Never Stop Exploring” campaign. I led the social copy creation for these partnerships.

  • Visible Wireless

    Visible Wireless partnered with The FADER in 2018 and 2019 for several activations in New York City, with artists such as Questlove and A$AP Ferg. I led the social copy creation as well as social strategy/promotion and distribution for these events.

  • YouTube Music

    In 2016 YouTube Music partnered with The FADER for “See in Blue,” a documentary spotlighting the rise of global superstar Dua Lipa. I took the lead on the social strategy, copy, and digital distribution for this project.

Black Crossword

Black Crossword is a free daily mini crossword puzzle that places emphasis on terms and clues from across the Black diaspora. New puzzles are available daily on blackcrossword.com. My first book of puzzles is available via Amistad/HarperCollins. The second book was released in June 2025.
